Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) is a Research and Development organization, which focuses on fostering social innovation that can bring about positive change to local, national, regional, and global entities. Its multidisciplinary team includes open-minded, well-equipped researchers, entrepreneurs, project managers, trainers, and Information Technology developers who collaborate to turn ideas into impactful action. CSI has the expertise to identify emerging social needs, design tailored initiatives, and implement effective, evidence-based solutions. Through research, capacity building, digital innovation, and strategic partnerships, the organization supports communities and stakeholders in addressing complex societal challenges. Committed to sustainability and long-term impact, CSI ensures that its projects promote inclusive growth, resilience, and measurable results across diverse sectors and communities.

The Cyprus National Addictions Authority (NAAC) is the supreme coordinating body in the field of licit and illicit addictive substances and pathological gambling in Cyprus. The NAAC is divided into two departments, the Policy Department and the Monitoring Department / National Documentation and Monitoring Centre for Drugs, and has the following responsibilities:

• Planning and monitoring the implementation of the National Strategy on Illicit Substances Dependence and the Harmful Use of Alcohol
• Coordinating and monitoring all relevant measures and interventions,
•  Promoting legislative measures,
• Promoting timely and scientifically documented information and enlightenment,
• Authorizing measures, programs and interventions for prevention, treatment, harm reduction and social reintegration, as well as sponsoring licensed programs of non-governmental organizations,
• Monitoring for the detection of any direct or indirect promotion or advertising of addictive substances use,
• Developing cooperation with corresponding international and national Bodies / Organizations,
• Implementing interventions or programs,
• Collecting, processing, studying and evaluating information and data,
• Creating, organizing and operating an electronic information network and
• Cooperating with the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA)

CUT is a public university based in Limassol, Cyprus, with a strong focus on applied research, innovation, and societal impact. The University combines academic excellence with close links to industry, healthcare, and public institutions, aiming to address contemporary challenges through interdisciplinary and solution-oriented research. CUT has established expertise in health sciences, behavioural and cognitive research, digital health, and data-driven methodologies. Its research activities emphasise methodological rigour, ethical compliance, and the translation of scientific knowledge into practice, contributing to evidence-based policy and innovation at national and European levels. With extensive experience in competitive European and international research programmes, CUT actively promotes open science, capacity building, and cross-sector collaboration, supporting the development of sustainable, inclusive, and high-impact research outcomes.

The European Network for Smoking and Tobacco Prevention (ENSP) is an international organisation based in Brussels, active for 29 years in the field of tobacco control. With more than 80 members, including national coalitions, present in 38 European Countries (23 EU and 15 non-EU), ENSP’s mission is to develop a strategy for co-ordinated action among organisations active in tobacco control in Europe by sharing information and experience and through co-ordinated activities and joint projects. ENSP aims to create greater coherence among smoking cessation activities, ensuring a continuous bridge between policy makers, researchers and tobacco cessation specialists and to promote comprehensive tobacco control policies at both national and European levels.
ENSP objectives are to fully implement the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) and to reduce the prevalence of tobacco use in the European region to less than 5% by 2040.

CESIE ETS is a European centre for studies and initiatives whose mission is to promote research and development of innovation in the socio-economic, educational and cultural fields.

It is a non-profit, non-political and non-governmental organisation founded in 2001 and based in Sicily, inspired by the work and theories of the pacifist Danilo Dolci (1924-1997).

Founded in 2019, Novelcore is an innovative company specializing in the programming and design of information systems. The team consists of full-time experts in ICT, including researchers, developers, project managers, and administrative professionals. The company develops AI-driven solutions that encompass knowledge discovery mechanisms, semantic data analysis, agentic AI solutions, knowledge graphs, natural language processing (NLP), and decision support systems supported by explainable AI-based (XAI) pipelines. These technologies enable us to create innovative applications that optimize decision-making processes, improve data management, and deliver interpretable solutions that foster trust and transparency.

The company currently participates in 13 EU-funded, as technical coordinator in two of those, and 3 national research programs. These projects address challenges in diverse critical sectors, including Earth Observations, Education, Health, Democracy, AI Ethics, the New European Bauhaus initiative, and Security. Novelcore collaborates with top-tier European universities, private sector companies, and civil society organizations to co-develop state-of-the-art digital tools and services. In Relief, Novelcore is the technical coordinator responsible for delivering the Relief platform.

The University of Cádiz (UCA) is a public Spanish university strongly oriented toward research excellence, innovation, and knowledge transfer, with campuses in Cádiz, Puerto Real, Jerez de la Frontera, and Algeciras. The University hosts a dynamic ecosystem of specialised institutes and interdisciplinary research groups addressing major societal challenges in fields such as health sciences, social sciences, engineering, marine and environmental sciences, digital technologies, marine research and sustainability. UCA prioritises applied and translational research, maintaining close collaboration with public administrations, healthcare systems, industry, and civil society, and emphasising methodological rigour, ethical standards, and real-world impact to support evidence-based policymaking and regional development. The University has extensive experience in securing and managing competitive funding from national and international programmes, including Horizon Europe, and is an active member of the SEA-EU Alliance (European University of the Seas), which promotes transnational collaboration, researcher mobility, joint infrastructures, and interdisciplinary research on societal challenges. Through these activities, UCA advances open science practices, international collaboration, and cross-sector partnerships, contributing to sustainable, inclusive, and high-impact research outcomes at European and international levels.

Founded in 1998, Reykjavik University (RU) has quickly become a leading force in research and teaching. At RU, there are seven departments; Computer Science, Engineering, Applied engineering, Business Administration, Law, Sport Science, and Psychology.

Courses are at BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. levels.

The student body consists of just over 3600 full-time students. About 200 students (at any given time) are exchange students, and about 170 are international students taking a degree in RU. There are 99 Ph.D. students at RU now; the majority are international students, or 53. 

Research, development, and innovation play a crucial role in RU, and there are 24 research groups, centres, and institutes based at the University. RU's commitment to international academic participation plays an important part in the University's research and teaching success. Gaining constant international recognition in research on predictors of mental health and behaviour of youth (Youth in Iceland, ERC funded LIFECOURSE), language technology, sleep, and artificial intelligence, to name a few. RU hosts Iceland's first AI laboratory, the Centre for Analysis and Design of Intelligent Agents (CADIA), and the Sleep Institute, funded by EU's Horizon 2020 Framework Programme for Health, demographic change, and wellbeing. The Department of Engineering hosts the innovative Iceland School of Energyvik, through which students become experts in renewable energy.
